Requirements:

  • Heavy lifting up to 100 pounds

  • Good driving record and current DOT medical card

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment

  • Must have a minimum Class B CDL license; with a Class A license viewed favorably

  • Well Organized

  • Able to work in various weather conditions

  • Ability to work overtime

 

Salary is commensurate depending on experience

Scheduled hours are Monday through Friday – no weekends.

The CDL Driver is responsible for the following...

  • The delivery of building materials and millwork to various construction sites in southern NE

  • Safe operation of your assigned delivery vehicle on both road and jobsites

  • Daily inspection of the vehicle for any potential safety issue or hazards

  • The preparation  of daily fuel and safety logs

  • The proper handling of all Douglas Lumber paperwork (bills of lading, invoices, etc.)

Non-CDL

Box Truck / Non-CDL​

​

The Box Truck / Non-CDL Driver is responsible for….

  • Will have responsibility for safe and courteous delivery and handling of purchased building materials to customer facility; assist other drivers with loading and unloading building materials from Boom and Box Truck deliveries.

  • Load and unload delivery trucks for transport according to schedule. This may occur several times a day until all deliveries are made.

  • Follow all company procedures for collecting C.O.D.’s, Credits and delivery requirements, etc.

  • Responsible for quality of shipment leaving our facility to its destination.

  • Observe and follow all prescribed safety measures

  • Assisting and unloading sheet-rock and plaster from Boom trucks

  • Assisting Box Truck drivers with window, cabinets and doors.

  • Perform other yard and warehouse duties as required.

What you’ll need to be considered…

  • Desired high school diploma or GED

​

Keys to your success…

  • Desired previous training in lumber yard environment, enabling employee to identify lumber and building products accurately.

​

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Lift 75-100 pounds up to a height of 6 feet.

  • Carry 100 pounds over a distance exceeding 12 feet.

  • Bend, stoop or squat to floor level on a repetitive basis.

  • Reach over head to grasp materials.

  • Able to drive distance of up to 250 miles per day.

​

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work outside in temperatures ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold.

Lot Maintenance - Part Time Seasonal​

Part-Time Associate

Douglas Lumber is seeking a Part-Time employee to help in our lumber yard involving light landscape work.

 

Duties include:

  •  Keeping our lot and landscaping clean and in order

  •  Minor landscaping responsibilities such as keeping up with the flower beds and mulch

  •  Plant care, including requirements for water and nutrients

  •  Collect litter in lot and landscaped areas

Knowledge of:

  •  Basic maintenance techniques

  •  Basic safety practices and procedure
