The CDL Driver is responsible for the following...

  • The delivery of building materials and millwork to various construction sites in southern NE

  • Safe operation of your assigned delivery vehicle on both road and jobsites

  • Daily inspection of the vehicle for any potential safety issue or hazards

  • The preparation  of daily fuel and safety logs

  • The proper handling of all Douglas Lumber paperwork (bills of lading, invoices, etc.)

Lot Maintenance

Lot Maintenance - Part-Time

 

Duties include:

  • Keeping our lot and landscaping clean and in order

  • Minor landscaping responsibilities such as keeping up with the flower beds and mulch

  • Plant care, including requirements for water and nutrients

  • Collect litter in the lot and landscaped areas

 

Knowledge of:

  • Basic maintenance techniques

  • Basic safety practices and procedures

Kitchen Expeditor

Kitchen and Bath Designer 

 

Will be responsible for the following…

  • Ability to communicate successfully with customers, builders, sub-contractors and vendors

  • Jobsite measures, status visits, consultations required

  • Proficient 20/20 skills, version 11+

  • Process each project from the initial measure, ordering material & delivery of goods to the client

  • Reliable vehicle and clean driving record

  • Saturdays required, rotating

 

What you’ll need to be considered…

  • 2+ years of proven, successful design and sales experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to design and sell to contractors and homeowners.

  • Excellent knowledge of kitchen and bath cabinetry, materials, finishes, and detailing.

  • Working knowledge of 20/20 and Microsoft Office programs.

  • Ability to read blueprints.

  • Can perform detail-oriented tasks in fast-paced working environment.

The Inside Sales representative is responsible for the following...

  • Perform all functions of Retail sales, including the preparation of quotes and orders of building materials for pick up or delivery, along with handling cash or credit card transactions through the registers as needed.

  • Serve as a resource for the customer; help customer selections by building consumer confidence using product knowledge and exemplary service.

  • Greet and engage customers promptly; prioritize Customer Service above administrative tasks

  • Process transactions accurately and timely from start to finish

  • Follow-up on all leads generated by either phone or email in a timely and professional manner

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for the following…

  • Careful and efficient handling of building materials to help fill customer’s orders

  • Keep building material inventory orderly to assure easy access

  • Able to load, stack and mark material using the correct handling procedures as directed by supervisor

  • Check materials against invoice for errors

  • Communicate with customers and teammates using verbal and written skills

  • Help provide customer service in an efficient and courteous manner. 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Basic forklift operational skills

  • Ability to lift large, heavy materials safely – maximum 100 pounds

  • Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with manual dexterity

Laborer

Box Truck / Non-CDL

The Box Truck / Non-CDL Driver is responsible for….

  • Will have responsibility for safe and courteous delivery and handling of purchased building materials to customer facility; assist other drivers with loading and unloading building materials from Boom and Box Truck deliveries.

  • Load and unload delivery trucks for transport according to schedule. This may occur several times a day until all deliveries are made.

  • Follow all company procedures for collecting C.O.D.’s, Credits and delivery requirements, etc.

  • Responsible for quality of shipment leaving our facility to its destination.

  • Observe and follow all prescribed safety measures

  • Assisting and unloading sheet-rock and plaster from Boom trucks

  • Assisting Box Truck drivers with window, cabinets and doors.

  • Perform other yard and warehouse duties as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Job Responsibilities – Activities: Includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Check products loaded on delivery trucks to ensure accuracy and safety.

  • Create shipping manifests (delivery schedules) for inbound delivery vehicles.

  • Answer phone calls, texts, and emails from customers and fellow employees regarding the status of deliveries.

  • Work with customers and fellow employees to help address and provide resolutions for any delivery/shipping issues that may arise.

  • Assist drivers as necessary with proper load security, delivery instructions, or paper workflow.

  • Monitor real-time GPS system to accurately track inbound and outbound Douglas Lumber delivery fleet.

  • Print and organize paper copies of the shipping manifest and purchase orders.

  • Printing vendor paperwork as necessary.

  • Assume responsibilities of shipping manager during vacations or other absences.


Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of shipping experience preferred.

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.

  • General building material knowledge, with extensive experience, preferred, but not required.

  • Detail-oriented.

  • Strong organization and communication skills.

  • Excellent customer service skills, including but not limited to polished phone etiquette.

  • Solid computer skills, including the use of Point-of-Sale operating systems, GPS, email, Microsoft Teams, and other assorted communication applications.

Outside Sales Coordinator

The Outside Sales Coordinator is responsible for….

  • Handles incoming phone calls and emails, answering customer questions regarding topics such as material availability delivery, backorders, specification, returns and credits.

  • Monitor scheduled delivery dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite, as needed.

  • Relay customer concerns to outside sales team and assist in investigating and resolving issues.

  • Generate purchase orders and place orders with vendors. Generate sales tickets for delivery, customer pick-up and special orders.

  • Work with purchasing to ensure customer special orders are accurate. Understand customer needs and specifications.

  • Have a broad knowledge and understanding of inventory in stock, and be able to explain the benefits of said inventory to customers.
